Slot Insists He Feels Safe and Has Liverpool's Support After PSV Eindhoven Loss

The Liverpool head coach admitted that it's expected for doubts to be asked about his future after a further convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered their 9th defeat in twelve matches, representing the club's poorest streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were dominated by the Eredivisie title holders on a punishing evening at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, I am OK, I've received plenty of support from the top,” Slot remarked.

“It's important to turn it around and earn three points of course but if you are in a managerial role and underperforming then it is normal that questions are asked.”

He noted, “I am OK with my position. It is not the first time I’ve been in a tough spot but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”

Talks with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to provide details on his discussions with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist for the squad and to me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me constantly each day to say they have faith in me.”

He further stated, “Through standard conversations we have I perceive the trust. But I've not talked to them since this game so far so it remains to be seen.”

Recurring Problems and Squad Response

Slot expressed regret over familiar failings from his Liverpool side in their Champions League defeat, specifically wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his assessment of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I'm telling that to everybody,” the midfielder remarked.

“It’s just not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to consider it. I'm beyond being angry inside. I’m at the point now where I simply lack the words.”

He added, “It’s hard because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I’ve seen Liverpool since I was young.”

“For many years, I've not seen a Reds side experiencing a spell like this with results so bad.”

He concluded, “But we still have that badge on our chest. And until it is taken away, we'll continue to compete.”

“We’re going to try to help the side return to the top, show everyone once more what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the best team in the planet.”

“But right now, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
