Each have been linked with the coaching position at the Scottish champions following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on Monday. McKenna's Position on The Scottish Club The Ipswich boss described the Glasgow giants as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town. The 39-year-old assumed control of Ipswich in recent years and guided the team to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy twelfth place in England's second tier. "There have been any of those conversations," the London-born former Irish youth international said when questioned about being on the candidate list. "It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my focus is currently. "I have a special job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a crucial phase of the campaign. Anything outside of that hasn't reached my radar." Context and Contractual Details It has been suggested that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support. "During youth, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about these. "I don't think all people has to go around and declare what they used to be, but naturally it's a massive sports organization." McKenna agreed to a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was asked about his alleged £5m release clause. "Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't disclose you anyway! "I tackle this job like I'll be Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the situation, but I will consistently do my best as while I remain in position." Bellamy's Position The former striker played for Celtic on loan from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the former Welsh forward is inclined to finish the ongoing World Cup campaign, a position that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Glasgow position. Wales are presently third in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up North Macedonia. Victories over the minnows and their rivals in November would secure their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive European competition campaign, should they not end up their group runners-up. Given his current position, the Wales manager, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would not be available until after the qualifying matches at the earliest.
