Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the amount of penalties each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.

But it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they might position two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

Early on of the season, we said during a show how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly and new RB JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad aiming to run first, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in positive situations.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

If you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges on which form of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
